An impressive 18th century thatched barn

Beneath an oak beamed high roof, floor to ceiling windows draw the gardens inside. Beautifully atmospheric by candlelight, the Crooked Barn is licensed for ceremonies of up to 90 and seats up to 60 guests for your wedding breakfast, with layouts to suit you, from a long top table to an intimate horseshoe.

A grand hall under a canopy of light

For larger celebrations, Ivy Hall is licensed for ceremonies of 90 to 220 guests and seats up to 220 for a sit down meal. A ceiling of fairy lights creates a romantic glow that has couples and guests talking long after the day, with room for up to 250 to dance the evening away.

Vows beneath the evergreen pines

Surrounded by evergreen pine trees within our 21 acres, the Ivy Hall lawn is made for open air vows. Add a tepee, marquee or awning dressed with fairy lights to make it yours. And should the Suffolk weather turn, we will simply move your ceremony into the barn, with no fuss at all.

Celebrations run through to midnight, and your suppliers are welcome from 8.30am on the morning of your wedding.

Led by our Head Chef Keith, our kitchen is passionate about locally sourced, quality ingredients. From a refined three course wedding breakfast to a relaxed hog roast under the stars, every menu is yours to shape.

Welsh rarebit tartlets, scallop mousse with chorizo jam, Thai fishcakes or miniature shepherd’s pie, served with bubbly, Pimm’s or mulled wine.

Roast sirloin of beef with Yorkshire pudding, fillet of salmon with duchess potato, or prawn and chilli linguine, followed by dark chocolate torte or sticky toffee pudding.

A sizzling barbecue or hog roast, bowl food, and grazing tables of cheese and charcuterie to keep the celebration going into the night.

Vegetarian, vegan and every dietary requirement are met with care. Bring your own ideas too, from a Mexican feast to a wedding breakfast carvery, and we will make it happen.

Choose a Thursday wedding in 2026 and save £2,000 on your venue hire compared with a Saturday. Selected Saturdays remain, and Thursdays and Fridays are available throughout the year. Speak with our coordinator to check your date.

Your questions, answered

How many guests can you welcome?

The Crooked Barn is licensed for ceremonies of up to 90 and seats up to 60 for the wedding breakfast. Ivy Hall is licensed for 90 to 220 guests, seats up to 220 for a sit down meal, and welcomes up to 250 in the evening.

Are you licensed for outdoor ceremonies?

Yes. We are licensed for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies. Our outdoor ceremonies are held on the Ivy Hall lawn, set among the pines within our 21 acres, and if the weather does not allow, we will move your ceremony into the barn.

What is included in venue hire?

Exclusive use of your barn or hall, your coordinator and team, tables, chairs, crockery, cutlery, glassware, white linen and napkins, an easel, cake stand, the fairy light canopy, staging, a PA system with microphone, the bridal suite on the night, and preferential room rates for your guests.

Do we have exclusive use of the venue?

You have exclusive use of the barn and hall for your wedding. Eve’s bar remains open to the public.

Can we stay the night, and our guests too?

Of course. We have a range of bedrooms on site, including a family room and a self catering farmhouse flat, plus dog friendly and accessible rooms. Check in is from 2pm and check out is 11am, and your guests enjoy preferential rates booked under your name.

What time does the celebration finish?

Our finish time is midnight. Live bands are welcome and simply connect to our surround sound PA, which has a sound limiter set to a comfortable level for everyone.

Can we decorate, and is confetti allowed?

Absolutely. You are welcome to dress the barn and hall, as long as nothing damages the walls or fixings. Candles are welcome within a lantern, holder or vase, and confetti is welcome as long as it is biodegradable.

How do we secure our date?

A £1,000 deposit secures your date and can be paid by phone, in person or by bank transfer. The best place to begin is a private viewing, which you can book in moments below.
